Experience Diwali Through Story and Sensory Play
At Storytime Scarves, a story isn't just words; it's an adventure, a bond, and a memory in the making. Imagine if storytime could be touched, seen, and heard, creating a truly unforgettable experience? Now it can.
Introducing 'Lumi and the Path of Lights,' a gentle audio story made specially for children and their families. This exclusive podcast is the perfect companion to our beloved UKCA-certified Festival of Lights Story Scarf, weaving the rich tale of Diwali's Festival of Lights into a hands-on, multi-sensory journey.
Listen and Discover the Magic
Find a cosy corner, wrap up with your Story Scarf, and press play. Let Lumi guide you through the sights and sounds of Diwali. It's a perfect at-home Diwali activity for sensory learning and imaginative play.
A Story You Can Hold
Our soft and colourful scarf is so much more than a toy; it's a storytelling world waiting to be explored through every sense. Designed in the UK and UKCA-certified for safety, this educational play scarf supports hands-on learning for children of all ages, including those with sensory sensitivities. Each thread carries the epic journey of the Ramayana, making Diwali's magic accessible to every child.
Continue Your Family's Festival of Lights
The adventure doesn't end when the audio pauses. Here are some reflection questions and activities adapted from our Listener's Journey Guide to continue the celebration:
Which moment from Rama and Sita's adventure shone brightest for you?
What would it feel like to light up a path of your very own?
In the story, Rama and Hanuman showed love in different ways. How do we show love in our family?
What family traditions make your own Diwali or Festival of Lights special?

Diwali Craft: Make Your Own Clay Diya
Create your own diya, a small vessel for light, connecting craft to tradition. This easy activity is excellent for little hands; all you need is natural air-dry clay and a battery tea light.
1. Roll the clay into a smooth ball.
2. Press your thumb into the centre to make a hollow.
3. Gently pinch the sides to form a bowl, shaping a spout on one side if you wish.
4. Let it dry for a day or two. Pop a tealight inside and watch your creation glow!
